    • Hello Nasreen,

      Thank you for your comment.
We have sent you an email regarding tickets for March 31st, which in 2024 is the Easter weekend when the thermal baths are busier, especially the most popular spas.

Kindly check your mail box and wishing you a lovely spring time in Budapest, and spa relaxation in Gellert Spa.

  4. Hello, we are coming for the Easter weekend and we’re hoping to visit the baths on Tuesday 02/04 – might there be any tickets available? Thanks

  5. Does the price include bathrobe and towl?

  6. Hi, I’m planning to visit in December. could I bring my ten-year old daughter into the thermal pools? What areas can she use?

    • Hello Daniela,

      Thank you for your comment.
The hot water pools in Gellert Spa are not recommended for children under 14.
For a truly family friendly place we would recommend considering Aqua World Budapest which offers a spa experience for adults and fun, children-friendly pools too.
We hope you have a great time in Budapest!

    • Hello, I would like to know if the baths are accessible for children with 13 years old. If not, there are any other baths that accept children with this age?

      • Hello Enzo,

        Thank you for contacting us.

As a general rule, Children younger than 14 years old are not allowed in the hot thermal water pools, only in the cooler swimming pools in the Baths in Budapest.
Palatinus Bath & Lido is a great alternative: although it is mostly known as an open air lido in central Budapest, Palatinus on Margaret Island has been extended with indoor pools (adult thermal and kid pool), which makes the bath a great option all year round, even during the colder winter months.

Aqua World, which is a water theme park in Budapest, is another option. It is located north of the city, approx. 1 hour ride from the city centre. Ideal for younger and older teenagers (there is even a surf class for beginners), superb for grown ups.

We hope you enjoy your visit to Budapest!

  7. Hi
We have already booked for three of us to visit Gellert on Friday 1st December but did not book the massage. If we would like to book for two us us to have a massage how could we add this to our booking?
    Many thanks
    Mandy

  8. Hi I am visiting on the 23rd November. – will the outside pool be open?

    • Hello Janet,

      Thank you for your comment.

The outdoor pool has been under maintenance at the end of October and is currently back in use.
Please kindly note that the bath reserves the right to close down a thermal pool without further notification if maintenance is needed.

We hope you enjoy your visit to Budapest!

  9. We are going to be in Budapest next year – January 20-28. Will the spa be open? Will the hotel? Is entry to the spa included if you stay at the hotel or is there a reduced rate for guests? Do you have a gym?

  10. Hallo,

We arrived Budapest Monday November 20 from California and we would like to come try your bath.

    Question for you.

What is the difference between GS cabin and GS locker?

How can we book bath and a 20 minute massage together, not all of us will need a massage.

    Thank you!

  11. Hello
Are the pools accessible for a limited mobility customer ? I can walk a little but needs help. Does the spa have a specialised wheelchair and loating device ?

    • Dear Constance,
      Thank you for your inquiry.
The thermal pool in the female only section can be accessed by wheelchair (directly from the main hall, without any raised areas or stairs that would hinder the way) and you can use the pool lift to immerse in the thermal spa waters. It is just called female only but the bath is coed now.
Currently, the main pool can also be used with a lift, but there are three stairs where help is needed.
The garden and outdoor areas are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible at the moment, but the baths are working on turning Gellert Spa into a truly accessible bath complex in the future.
Have a nice time in Budapest!

  12. Sarah Derbyshire

Hello Is it possible to take a one year old to Gellert Baths?

    • Dear Sarah,
Thank you for checking before visiting Gellert Baths.
The bath entry is free for children under 2 years old but older children have to pay full prices tickets.
Babies who are not potty trained are not allowed in the pools, even if they are wearing a swimming nappy. It mostly applies to children under the age of 3.
Babies and toddlers can come with the family to the Spa but need to stay outside the pool area with somebody.
The thermal baths were and are still aimed at adult bathers, therefore there are no kid’s pools or activities.
Most of the outdoor and indoor pools and baths are more than 33 degrees Celsius, which means increased stress for the cardiovascular system of kids, whose body is not fully developed yet to be able to cope with the heat of the bath waters, therefore saunas and hot pools are not healthy for children under 14.

  14. Hello,

    Kind regards,

  15. Hi,

We would love to see Gellert Bath but are travelling our 2 kids, aged 8.
No special price for kids or families?
No short time tickets , like 2 or 3 hrs, as kids get tired quickly?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Hello Maria,
The thermal baths were and are still aimed at adult bathers, therefore there are no kid’s pools or activities.
The bath entry is free for children under 2 years old. Older children need to buy full-priced entries.

    • Hello Pieter,
The wave pool is operating without the waves for a few weeks now (since April).
There is large renovation project planned from October which will fix the almost 100 years old pool.
Hope we can welcome you at Gellert Spa!

  17. When is the renovation scheduled to begin? I don’t want to purchase tickets on June 1st, 2023 if the facility is partially closed.

Have a lovely time in Budapest!

  18. Cristina Gonzalez

    Hello,

My friend and I would like to go to the therms next Saturday 1st April. Are the therms still open and what are the opening hours? How can we add a massage to our booking?

    Many thanks,
    Cristina

    • Hi Cristina,
Yes, Gellert baths is open from 9am to 7pm every day.
Massages can be booked on the spot.
Hope we can welcome you at Gellert Bath!

      • Very expensive if you don’t bring your own towels, only one pool available if you don’t have a swimming cap, but guess what, you can purchase all but it will end up costing you nearly £100 for 2 people…. not sure its worth it..

  19. Hello, will the Gellert baths be open in April? My daughter and I are travelling to Budapest in April and the Gellert is our favourite!

    Thanks,

    Fionola

  20. Hi are the baths currently open?

  21. Christina Voldby Sünksen

Hey, we will arrive in July and would like to visit Gellert. But I can’t buy any tickets after 1. of June. How can that be?

    • Hello Christina,
Thank you for getting in touch. Gellert Spa will be likely closed for renovation from June 1. Please do inquire a few days before your visit, however, as there may be changes in the schedule.
Please kindly consider visiting Szechenyi Baths for a thermal relaxation in the meantime:

  22. Hi!

I wanted to check what COVID guidelines and restrictions are in place at the Baths in Budapest. Please help me out with this so that I can make an informed decision before buying my tickets.

    Thanks!

    • Hello Katie,
at the moment only vaccinated guests are allowed with vaccination proofs or Covid passports. Masks are required to be worn at busy places like the entrance and on the corridors, changing rooms etc. Inside the pools, saunas, and steam rooms no masks are required. At the moment the rental is suspended, please bring your own spa kit. Hope we can welcome you at Gellert Spa!

  23. Hello! What are the prices on New Year week from January 3 to January 8 in 2022? Thanks in advance!

  24. Hi is it possible to book 2 tickets for the baths on the 5th January 2022?

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Graham

  25. hello,

my boyfriend and I was at your SPA on saturday for 2 massages and baths. We had appointment for massages at 10.50 am. I had a girl, he had a guy. None of us asked what pressure of massage we want, there was no professionalism, they both had no idea what they are doing, no technique, nothing. On top of that, my boyfriend’s masseuse kept yawning all the time without even hiding it! i am not sure if there was there first day working at your SPA but it was definitely worst massges both of us ever had. THe music at some point was a trance house music in the room – i thought it was about luxury experience – what is luxury abou that?! after that we head to baths and the reason i didnt send my feedback earlier is because we both caught a severe flu after being at your thermal baths and its the first day i have no fever. Its not my first time in Budapest, definitely not my first time in SPA, but this experience was something i want to forget as soon as possible. I demand refund at least for massages part of it because it was not up even to lowest standards. I will send my card details once i hear back from you.

    • Dear Maria,
we are sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, we could not find your booking in our system, therefore we have contacted you via email, please refer to our emails and the contact details provided. We hope that we can welcome you with a better experience.

  26. Hello

I want to book 2 tickets for 19th March for my partners birthday, do the tickets include the indoor pools? I am a bit confused. What is the difference between the cabin and locker?

    • Hello Janki,

      Thank you for contacting us.

Yes, the tickets give you access to all pools indoor and outdoor as well.

Both lockers and cabins are designed to store your belongings while you are enjoying Gellert Spa with its indoor and outdoor pools. BUT:
Lockers are smallish boxes with a lock on them (like the ones at train stations). The size of one is 120x30x65 cm (1200 x 300 x 650 mm).
Cabins, on the other hand, are like changing rooms (but smaller ones) combined with storage facilities. In a cabin, changing privately AND storing your belongings in a safe place can happen at the same time and in the same place.

Hope the helps you making a decision which ticket to buy. Please follow this link for booking: http://gellertspa.com/gellert-spa-thermal-bath-online-tickets

Have a wonderful stay in Gellert Spa of Budapest!

  27. Hi, I am looking to visit in a large group of 10 on the 1st January but can’t pre-book online. If you can’t book online, what would you suggest we do/ what time to arrive on 1st as we really want to visit during our trip to Budapest. Also, if we arrive on the day are we purchasing a full day access ticket or a specified time ticket.

    Thanks

    • Hello Lauren,
we recommend you arrive around 10 am as most of the guests are arriving in the early afternoon hours.
Tickets will be available upon arrival, as the online sale is stopped for the Festive Period.

  28. Hi!

My boyfriend and I are going to Budapest over Christmas and we would love to visit the wonderful thermal baths ! I’ve tried the online booking system but the dates 24-26th of December are not available, though I’ve read on the different baths individual websites that they will be open over the holidays (but with limited opening times).
Could we just turn up on the day? We don’t want to miss out – should it be very busy..

    What to do?

    Many thanks,

    Hanna

  29. Hello, I paid for two tickets and two massages for Gellert in on Sep 27 but have not received an email. What should I do

    • Hello Kevin,
thank you for letting us know. The confirmation email of your thermal bath products (which is basically the same as your ticket) was already automatically sent to you, to the email address you have provided in the booking form: please make sure to check the spam folder in case it ended up there. At any rate, we have manually resent it again. Please let us know if there should be any further inconvenience, or if you wish to get the ticket sent to a different email address too.

Have a great time in Budapest, and enjoy the hot spring spas!

  30. Dear Sirs,
I will soon book a stay at your hotel with my husband. Meanwhile, I have a question regarding the history of the baths. Is it true that they were never closed during the previous century? Particularly, I would like to know if they were open in 1946, after the war. I know there was a reconstruction underway after the war, but was there an area still open for medical treatment during that time? Is there a book or a publication with extensive information regarding your history?

    Many thanks and kind regards

  31. Hi there,

I would like to know if I could make a reservation of massage on the spot? For example, I arrive on 21/07, and I make a reservation for 23/07.

    Thank you for your reply.

  32. I am not able to pint from our lodging. Can I book and arrive without the printed confirmation?

  33. hi, what is included in the single normal ticket?

    • Dear Gabo,
the Bath Ticket with Cabin includes a private cabin to get changed and the use of all the pools and saunas in Gellert Spa. If you decide buying Bath Ticket with Locker, you will get a locker, which is a standard wardrobe type box with a lock on them, in a bigger changing area (men and women are in separate changing rooms), and also you can use all of the pools and saunas. Massage- and other treatments are not included in the single Bath Ticket.

  34. Hello there
We are coming to Budapest this summer and can’t wait :)
I was wondering if a pregnant woman is allowed in those baths? Do you think it harms the baby?
    Thank you

    • Dear Haida,
All visit to the baths and its facilities are at the responsibility of visitors, including pregnant mothers. During pregnancy please keep consulting with your doctor whenever you intend to visit public baths, shared pools.
